We are excited to announce the launch of our Spring 2019 program, which will include return to work opportunities with 13 partner companies. We welcome our new partners Dynamic Signal, Netflix, and Uber, and applaud the continued commitment to diversity and inclusion from our returning partners Cloudera, Cloudflare, DataStax, Intuit, LendingClub, NBCUniversal, OSIsoft, SAP, Verizon, and Volta.
As a part of the program, our partners are offering paid return to work internships that will begin in March of 2019. The Path Forward program is open to mid-career professionals who have at least 5 years of professional experience and are looking to return to work after taking a career pause of at least two years for caregiving. These opportunities will span a wide range of functions, including software engineering, marketing, sales, product management, operations, and HR. The return to work roles will primarily be located in three major metro areas, including New York City, Los Angeles, and the San Francisco Bay Area, with limited additional opportunities in Denver and Seattle.
To kick off the program in San Francisco, Path Forward will be hosting two free career restart seminars, where prospective applicants can learn more about the Path Forward program, get advice on how to apply, and network with staff from our partner companies. The Bay Area events will take place on Wednesday, January 16th in San Francisco and Thursday, January 31st in Mountain View.
We are extremely pleased that our Return to Work program is helping candidates restart their careers across markets, across industries, and across functions with companies large and small who all share one thing — a commitment to creating a more diverse and thriving workplace. We ran our first program in San Francisco in the fall of 2016 with partners Zendesk, Demandbase, Cloudflare and Coursera and have since run five consecutive programs across four markets including San Francisco, New York, Colorado and Los Angeles.
In all, we’ve worked more than 40 companies — including Walmart, Workday, Apple, Intuit, SAP SuccessFactors, Medallia, Cloudera, GitHub, LendingClub, Sage Intacct, Nutanix, OSIsoft, Quizlet, Volta Charging, Stripe, Udemy, and PayPal in San Francisco; NBCUniversal, SAP, Campbell’s Soup, AppNexus, and Verisk Analytics in New York; Return Path in Colorado; and Verizon Digital Media Services and Boingo Wireless in Los Angeles — to create opportunities for caregivers to restart their careers. Nearly 300 people (predominantly women) have completed Path Forward returnships and 82% of those were offered ongoing employment at the company where they interned.
In the words of Sage Intacct’s Chandra Krishnamoorthy, “Path Forward not only helped me find a place in my company, but the constant support they provided during the returnship was amazing. One thing that comes to mind is the workshops where we met other returnees, hearing their success stories was very encouraging. The constant email communications, the one-day workshops and all the encouraging tips all were extremely well planned and very useful for the returnees.” Learn more about Chandra’s career journey here.
