Speaking Up About Racial Justice

“The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them.” – Ida B. Wells

As advocates on a mission to widen workplace diversity and inclusion initiatives, we’d be remiss not to acknowledge our place of privilege and firmly call our audience to action in the fight against systemic racism. Path Forward believes that every person’s voice and value is of equal importance. We therefore stand resolute with the Black Lives Matter movement and applaud our adjacent nonprofits who are directly helping to alleviate racial injustice. We encourage all to lend your voice and support however you can:

1. Call or write to your local government and state leaders to demand justice, accountability, and policy changes
2. Participate locally at a peaceful protest (safely and with proper PPE)
3. Educate yourself (and your children) on race matters and being anti-racist

Talking About Race – National Museum of African American History and Culture
An Anti-Racist Reading List – The New York Times
Anti-Racism Resources – list of books, podcasts, films & tv, etc

4. Donate to the following platforms (or one of the many, many others) if you are able:

Color of Change
NAACP Legal Defense Fund
Black Lives Matter
Center for Policing Equity
Center for Black Equity
Campaign Zero

Every phone call, dollar, lesson learned and choice to amplify a Black voice counts. We hope you will find ways to step up and show your true commitment to justice and equality.
