We are very excited to announce the launch of our fourth program in Northern California, which will include return to work opportunities with nine partner companies. We are pleased to welcome new partners Apple, Carta, DataStax, Intuit, and Udemy and applaud the continued commitment to diversity and inclusion from our returning partners Cloudera, Cloudflare, Volta, and Medallia.
As a part of the program, our partners are offering paid return to work internships that will begin in February and March of 2018. The Path Forward program is open to mid-career professionals who have at least 5 years of professional experience and are looking to return to work after taking a career pause of at least two years for caregiving. These opportunities will span a wide range of functions including hardware engineering, software engineering, marketing, product management, professional services, and HR. To kick off the program, we’ll be hosting a free Career Restart Seminar on January 10 from 4-6 PM where you will have a chance to meet recruiters from our partner companies. Path Forward’s Executive Director, Tami Forman, will also be presenting information on how to restart your career with a return to work internship and offer advice on how to apply. We ran our first program in San Francisco in the fall of 2016 with partners Zendesk, Demandbase, Cloudflare and Coursera. In the spring of 2017 our California program expanded to include Medallia, Cloudera, Intacct, and Volta Charging, among others. We also expanded the program into New York metro with the addition of AppNexus and Verisk Analytics. This past summer we launched our biggest program yet, adding PayPal, Stripe, and Lending Club in Northern California and Verizon Digital Media Services and Boingo Wireless in Los Angeles. Earlier this month we announced the launch of a program in Colorado with Oracle Data Cloud, TeleTech and Return Path. In all, we’ve worked nearly 30 companies to create opportunities for caregivers to restart their careers.
Nearly 100 women have completed Path Forward internships and 80% of those were offered ongoing employment at the company where they interned. Within six months of the end of their program, 85% of them were employed. In the words of Zendesk’s Wendy Padua, “Doing a returnship at a company working with Path Forward was undeniably fantastic.
